THE NATIONAL CARRIER

The nation-builder press, April 26, 2003.

$ingapore Airlines on Apr 26 2003, decided to slash air fares by as much as 50 per cent to entice $ingaporeans to fly. The cities involved are: London, Manchester, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, Paris, Rome and Zurich. Passengers must travel by June 30.

In the above report, the nation-builder press said it "understands that more than 550 tickets have been snapped up."

$ingapore is currently battling the SARS virus with 22 dead and 199 infected as of Apr 28 2003.

The nation-builder press, April 27, 2003.

The next day, health ministers from Asean, Japan, China and South Korea proposed that departing passengers at airports, seaports and even river ports would be screened, and anyone showing Sars symptoms would be barred from travel.

Why???

This is what the man from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr Shigeru Omi, said at the meeting:

"The virus has already demonstrated its explosive power to cause sudden outbreaks in a large number of countries. We are at a crossroads and what we decide today will determine the future course of this outbreak. We must be absolutely relentless in our search for every possible Sars case. We must use every weapon at our disposal."

"SIA is encouraging $ingaporeans to fly to London, Manchester, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, Paris, Rome and Zurich. Of course, only the healthy will be allowed lah."

How did SARS spread so quickly around the world?
Read Nature's Microscopic Weapon Of Mass Destruction by David Morris, AlterNet. "More than 700 million people fly across international borders each year. Globalization has its attractions. Global transportation systems have generated economic growth and cultural understanding. But along with its benefits, the global transportation infrastructure generates costs. In a village, when one family falls ill the entire village is vulnerable to the disease. And so it is in the emerging global village... Microbial diseases spread as quickly as planes fly." http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15618

"The threat that Iraq poses from weapons of mass destruction I think has been clearly exposed as a lie. We were told to expect chemical weapons to rain down on troops as soon as they crossed over the border from Kuwait into Iraq, but that didn't happen. We were then told that as we closed in on the so-called ‘red line' around Baghdad — the 50-mile circle — that as soon as we breached that, chemical weapons would be used. That didn't happen. Then we said chemical weapons would be used as a last-gasp defence of Baghdad but that didn't happen. What chemical weapons? We were told that the presidential palaces were brimming over with weapons of mass destruction, but we now occupy many of the presidential palaces and we've found nothing."
- Scott Ritter, former chief UN weapons inspector to Iraq who resigned in 1998, claiming that President Bill Clinton was too lenient on Saddam Hussein's regime.

$ingapore joined the US-led coalition of war against Iraq because Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Foreign minister S Jayakumar said: "It should be presented for what it really is, the issue of weapons of mass destruction and disarmament."
