"A beautifully captured Tales From Topographic Oceans experience, and
hands down the single best-sounding, most complete, Post-Remembering Tales
tape yet to surface. There is a very small cut at the tail-end of The
Ancient, and some minor tape damage during Ritual and Roundabout, but
that's it."
"Two different tapes
of this show have turned up: One was used to press a vinyl bootleg of
part of the concert and the other is this nearly complete excellent source
tape. While both have circulated among yes collectors since the 1970s,
this particular generation was an upgrade that circulated mainly among
DAT collectors and traders." VG+ AUD stereo, bottom is muddy.

Yes - TheTooleMan
Presents: Wembley Matinee 1978 [TooleMan 2CD Torrent: 51652] live at Wembley,
London, Oct 28 1978, matinee show. VG AUD stereo.
The evening performance
has been widely circulated from the BBC broadcasts, both pre- and post-FM
versions. There have also been one or two recordings of the evening show
which were labeled as the afternoon show.
This is the real
thing - possibly the only tape of the matinee in existence! Original audience
tape by Steve Darton was provided by Mick Dillingham. The recording sounds
great and is complete except for the last minute of the big medley, which
was lost when side one of the tape ran out. I gave it a nice quick fade
to make it less shocking.
The audience is not
very talkative between songs and is attentive during them, except for
some rube yelling at Rick Wakeman during Awaken. Still not too distracting.

FRANK ZAPPA LIST
Frank Zappa - We're
Only in it for the Money Outtakes [no label 1CD Torrent: 82278] "This
was discovered by a past aquaintance of mine in the dustbin at RykoDisc.
It is a CD transfer from a cassette of the original acetate. I cleaned
it up a little with Cool Edit Pro and the results are quite listenable."
Recorded 1967. Ex- SBD stereo.
Frank Zappa - The Rest Of "Just Another Band From LA" [no label 1CD] this
was planned as the second LP for 1972's Just Another Band From LA but
remains unreleased. This was taken from a promo copy. This has been widely
debated as either the second LP for Just Another Band From
LA or meant for the Mothers' Fillmore East June 1971. Ex SBD stereo. Some
vinyl noise.
Frank Zappa - Kansas City, December 2, 1972
This sound-corrected version is in a near excellent quality and the Concert
quailty is great.
Frank Zappa &
the Mothers - Amsterdam, October 20, 1968
There are so
many good concerts, can't say which one is the best. Maybe this one could
be one of the best. Fine work by the Mothers and an outstanding Guitar
by Mr. "Ladies & Gentlemen". Excellent sound-quality!
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - 200 Motels Live with Zubin
Mehta [TMOQ 1CD Torrent: 58394] live at Pauley Pavillion, UCLA, Westwood,
California, May 15, 1970. With Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
"The matrix of the TMOQ vinyl boot was 746-1/2. This means that this is
an East Coast pressing, and could be from the so-called "White Cover Folks".
I still am completely surprised by the high quality of this recording."
VG+ AUD stereo.
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - Complete 200 Motels Live with
Zubin Mehta [DavMar77 2CD Torrent: 59057] live at Pauley Pavillion, UCLA,
Westwood, California, May 15, 1970. With Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles
Philharmonic. "Not only does this have the set with the LA Philharmonic,
it also has the beginning and end of the show commonly edited out. My
friend got this off the master years ago. My copy came off his on reel
at 7-1/2 ips. I've included a setlist I found but I will rely on the folks
here for something maybe a little more accurate." - Dave . VG+ AUD stereo.
Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention - Fillmore West 1970 [no label
1CD Torrent: 75628] live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA, November
6, 1970. Taken from Bill Graham Productions Archive Soundboard Master."This
version may be closer to the Bill Graham Productions archive master as
it does not suffer from several major dropouts and right channel level
reductions that were inherant to that other version. This copy is also
far better in terms of accurate track indexes and has a corrected setlist
to match. The only noted flaws on this copy are a splice (only a few seconds
missing) on track 14, probably due to a reel change and the master reels
again running out at 1:47 of track 28." Also, of interest to fans of the
"Burnt Weeny Sandwich" LP, this performance includes lyrics and vocals
on the formerly instrumental "Little House I Used To Live In" and "Holiday
In Berlin, Full Blown." Ex SBD stereo.
Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention - Fillmore West 1970: UPGRADE
[no label 1CD Torrent: 75964] live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA,
November 6, 1970. "Much better than the previous upload of this from a
few days ago and hopefully at the correct pitch this time." "The interesting
thing about this source is that it was Carlos Santana's cassette copy.
Carlos is actually a tape collector and this is from a cassette he had
since the early '70's but didn't care about anymore so he gave it to a
mutual friend who let me copy it." Ex SBD stereo with some hiss. "If you
listen on headphones there is a faint repetitive clicking in some that
sounds like it was introduced by a very cheap cassette recorder in the
lineage."
Frank Zappa - Live
in New Jersey at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, May 9, 1973. An amazing
tripple CD-set in excellent quality.

bootleg All You Need Is Glove and covers the 1984 tour. VG - Ex SBD stereo.
Frank Zappa - Resolver + Brutality [no label 1CD Torrent: 62149] "This
is an audio cassette containing 58 minutes of previously unreleased synclavier
music. This cassette is from about the same era as Zappa Meets The Mothers
Of Prevention (1985). From this album the track H.R. 2911 is the closest
to the music presented on Resolver + Brutality. We believe the cassette
can be dated to 1986.
"The tracks can be
grouped into Resolver (1,2) and Brutality (3-8). First two tracks are
pure instrumental opuses. Next tracks includes also voice samples. The
Brutality group of tracks is directly related to the 1985 Senate PMRC
hearings.
"The cassette is
TDK SA-X 90 (the label is from SA 60). Tracks 1.-4. are on side A, tracks
5.-8. on side B. The quality of the cassette is very good. It is probably
a master clone directly recorded by Zappa in his studio." Ex SBD stereo.

CD10 Warts And All 2 - live at Palladium, New York, Oct 28 and 31 1978
+ London 1979
CD11 Soup And Old Clothes - Various live 1968 to 1980.
CD12 World Pop Domination - live, outtakes, radio show 1963-1980
It should be noted
that the titles "The Cucamonga Era", "Show & Tell", "Soup & Old
Clothes" and "Hotel Dixie" (in that order) are real Zappa titles in that
he planned to use them in his own 12-record set The History & Collected
Improvisations of Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention. Those plans
were never realized, and the box should not be confused with the 10-LP
boot box so named. "Soup & Old Clothes", of course, was later used
for a solo in the Shut Up & Play Yer Guitar set. Warts & All was
an album that never came out from around 1980 (and later the working title
for the Lost Episodes). "Night of the Iron Sausage" was a track title
on the unreleased double-album version of Zoot Allures, and possibly a
working title for the whole album.
